Foundations
Reflection FourAs one embarks on a philosophical endeavor they must postulate for major questions, each having a degree of impact on the other.
To start the would be philosopher asks themselves, or the world “What exists?”
A simple question with a myriad of of answers
All forking off, leading to an innumerable amount of possibilities.
The slightest change in plurality shifts the foundation that supports the academic’s prescribed rejoinder.
For, at their core, this is where religious differences can arise.
One responds “beings”, while another states “a being.”
Science simplies its answer to “matter”.
Philosophy rewards simple answers.
As the more complex ones become less general
T oo specific to be applicable to the multitude of masses requesting guidance.
Based off/on the response to the intial question, one then queries “What is valuable?”
And again, another branch arises, lending toward varying understanidngs of life.
For, in describing “What exists?” (WE), and of those things that exist, “What is valuable?” (WV)
We’re left with the skeleton of a roadmap to “How should we live?”
Many theorize & effectively respond to question one.
Some find support in their reply, and proceed at answering
to certain extents question two, as well as three.
But the trick is the final inquiry.
“How do you/ we know?”
